Iceland’s Icelandair airline broke taboos by launching its new institutional commercial. Unlike the majority, the company shows in its video a gay couple enjoying their vacations and enjoying a flight of the company.

The attitude, according to Jón Skafti Kristjánsson, brand manager, was an attempt to reflect the diversity of customers that Icelandair has, using an approach that penetrates and is appropriate in certain groups.

“This ad depicts a cultural trip to Iceland and the group they are aiming for are people who travel to enjoy what life has to offer their loved ones. So, it was an obvious choice to use a loving middle-aged couple for such an advertisement. But this time we think: why not add to the diversity and make this loving and middle-aged couple of the same sex? “He explained.
